And So It Begins

Friends and Family –

You ask for a recipe at a party we had, and I say “I’ll send it to you”. And I never do. Never. Not once.  I can’t tell you what I did at work today, much less remember to send a recipe.

So I’m just going to link them here and that way you can get them.  And in honor of my youngest sister’s 40th birthday this weekend (yes, youngest), I’m going to start with the recipes I keep promising to send her.

And in honor of my son’s 7th birthday this weekend, I made him these treat bags for his party. C’mon, Mojang, don’t you know we love our inexpensive party goods. Where are the Minecraft gift bags and small frisbees? And plates and napkins?! (I bought square brown plates, lime green napkins, and grass photorealistic tablecloths as a sad, sad, substitute).

Needless to say, those that can’t remember to send recipes never make their own gnocchi. I buy it shelf stable.

Summer’s Last Hurrah Panzanella (Smitten Kitchen)

Since I never have capers, I use 1/8 teaspoon of onion powder. I know, not the same briney goodness, but it works.

And from the family 40th/7th party:

Samoa Cookie Dip (LiveLovePasta)

I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and only half the butter.  That makes it healthy.

Eventually I’m just going to link this to the website I reserved years ago, luckyrhino.net, but for now, it’s this site (and by “I’m” of course I mean Kevin).
