What Worked Well – Valentine Edition

So what did everyone make for Valentine’s Day?   Did you go with fancy (something with scallops perhaps) or a nice steak?   I went with comfort food and a joint Valentine’s Day with my sister’s family.  The more the merrier!

The Slow Braised Beef from Smitten Kitchen was easy-peasy lemon squeezy. 3 ingredients. That’s it.  4 hours.  It’s done.  Did I take a picture?  No, I didn’t.

For dessert, I made How Sweet Eats Chocolate Cream Pie.

Wow.  This was a win, even though I found out a liiiiiieeeetle too late that I had only ½ package of graham crackers in the house.

Staying with the How Sweet Eats theme, I also made this Thai Chicken Salad and then took a horribly blurry pictures of it.  But it was yummy.

Actually, none of the pictures I took in the last couple of weeks turned out well.  Perhaps because we live in a perpetual state of sub-zero, gray, dingy weather with very little natural light.   But at least we don’t have 1,587 inches of snow like the Northeast.  So “Not enough natural light for good Tumblr/Instagram photos” = First World Midwest problem.  By the way, I have more current updates at Instagram at luckyrhino.   So feel free to follow that stream.

I hope whatever the weather you had a lovely Valentine’s Day/President’s Day holiday.  The following is presented to you from Valentine’s Day – I Have Two  Boys:
